9:28 pm - poems

lilith_storm

I hope these are ok to share. I wrote these last night,  and while they are technically dedicated to Lilith, I happened to think they would be lovely to share here as well as the Lilith groups. I promise they are 100% dedicated to the body. ;)

4:24 am - New Stuff

achanchinou
I am returning to making oils, perfumes, creams, and the like. I have been on a haitus from making such things for a couple of years due to other work infringing on my time for such things. However, now I'm getting back into it, since we've settled down into a house instead of being perpetual tourists.

For my first thing, I'm going to make up a sample set of rosemary mint bath oil or massage oil. This recipe can be used for either. It's in a peanut oil base, though, so if you have a peanut allergy, don't try it.

It contains rosemary, mint, and eucalyptus in a peanut oil base. A 2.5 ounce sample bottle, shipped to you, for $6. If you like it and want a big amount I'll work out a pricing plan with you. After the sample phase for is over each product, prices will be published

I'll start shipping on May 25th.

If anyone else uses the products made by LUSH, would you care to step over to my journal and give some input? One of my friends is looking to get some, and she's trying to get a feel for what's out there.

Thanks, and happy self-spoiling!

9:37 pm - V Day on the cheap

austingoddess
What do you do for V Day when you're low on cash?

For one really broke V Day, I bought a few dollars worth of handmade paper, folded the papers together to make a little book, wrote several poems about them/my love for them/our plans together, and stitched up the fold with some gold thread I had. I blindfolded them, lay them down, and fed them a Hershey's kiss for each poem I read to them.
They bought really good pizza, and we sat in the backyard at night on a picnic blanket eating it with a jar candle that wouldn't stay lit. :)

1:18 pm - Cosmetics and Body Care Products in Paris

apel
This is a bit late but I thought I'd try anyway. We're going to Paris over the New Year. Are there any cosmetics or body care shops there that you would recommend I visit? I love L'Occitane but surely there's more in France.

2:29 pm - Holiday hedonism

austingoddess
Despite the focus on others, the onset of winter frequently results in more introspection and focus on the self. So what does everybody do to brighten your personal holiday season?

For me:Collapse )

achanchinou
I think this might be completely off topic, and if so I will not object at all to this post being removed. I wont post the content here, merely a link to my own LJ for the reason. I need two fonts, anyone who can help will be rewarded. http://www.livejournal.com/users/achanchinou/407038.html

Thanks!

Hello all! This is just a quick post to let everyone know that I have created a pair of sister communities that might be of interest to some of you. The first is called gabriels_shadow and is a forum for the discussion on the subjects of finding oneself, personal epiphany, and personal philosophy as well as the sharing of creative writing, thought, poetry, or artwork related to the concept.

Gabriel's sister community is called lucifers_echo and is basically the same thing only devoted to the concepts of vice and the human condition. Everyone is encouraged to please check out the user info for both communities and join if they are interested. Both forums are open to any and all people who would like to join and be part of them. We look forward to welcoming you!

I am looking for a good body wash that has either AHAs or Glycolic Acid in it.

Preferrably one that is not mainstream (like, oil of olay or jergens or something...).

Something off the beaten path that is effective and relatively cheap.

This may be out of line, and if so I'll happily remove it.

I was going through my oil paints and discovered that my favourite tube, Naphthol Red (medium) is busted. The end of the tube has split and is leaking into my box, so I'm doing really cheap commissions to anyone who wants them. Please see my current entry for details.

8:26 am - some spring poetry

austingoddess
crossposted to sacredmuse

Many people are familiar with the Eleusinian Mysteries, how Kore/Persephone was kidnapped to the underworld, and Demeter in Her grief would not give Her energy to growing plants on the earth. The beginning of spring marked the Lesser Mysteries, when Baubo finally got Demeter to laugh, breaking Her depression and causing Her to demand a solution and right now.
The story of Uzume and Amaterasu is very similar...the sun goddess is bombarded by negative things that cause her to retreat to a cave, taking the energy of the sun with her. By the same ritual gesture of ana-suromai (exposing her genitalia), Uzume got the 8 million gods and goddesses laughing so loudly that Amaterasu snapped out of her funk of depression and self-pity long enough to see what was going on. Just outside the cave entrance was a mirror that reminded Her how beautiful She was.

So for those of you still dealing with the funk of winter, or those of you feeling overwhelmed by life and are in need of a good laugh...a bawdy poem of UzumeCollapse )
